Change of command for NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center

Capt. William C. (Bill) Power, Supply Corps, will be relieved by Capt. Timothy R. Jett, Supply Corps, as commanding officer of NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Puget Sound on Nov. 14, 11 a.m., in the Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor Chapel.

BANGOR — Capt. William C. (Bill) Power, Supply Corps, will be relieved by Capt. Timothy R. Jett, Supply Corps, as commanding officer of NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Puget Sound on Nov. 14, 11 a.m., in the Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor Chapel.

Rear Adm. James R. McNeal, commander, NAVSUP Global Logistics Support, will preside over the ceremony. William E. Bickert Jr., vice commander of NAVSUP Global Logistics, will deliver comments on Power’s retirement. Bickert is a retired U.S. Navy Supply Corps captain.

Jett, a native of Scottsboro, Alabama, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1991 and has a master’s in business administration from the Naval Postgraduate School. He completed the senior executive education program at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and the advanced program in logistics and technology at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.

Jett is a member of the Defense Acquisition Corps and is a qualified aviation, submarine, and surface warfare Supply Corps officer.

Power is retiring from active duty after 31 years of service. He received a bachelor of arts degree in social sciences from Bard College, Annandale, N.Y., a master’s degree (with distinction) in systems management from Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, Calif., and a master’s degree (distinguished graduate) in national resource management from The Industrial College of the Armed Forces, Washington D.C.

In 1984, he enlisted in the Navy and served for three years in the Navy nuclear field as an electronics technician. While assigned to USS Mississippi (CGN 40), he received appointment to Officer Candidate School, Newport, R.I., earning his commission in 1987.

Power is an acquisition professional and a graduate of the Advanced Management Program, the Navy Corporate Business Course, and the Columbia University Senior Executive Program.  He is a qualified surface warfare Supply Corps officer.
