A 34-year-old Belfair man was arrested in Bremerton for negligent driving with alcohol Feb. 28 after urinating during a traffic stop.
At about 6 p.m., a police officer followed a Toyota pickup speeding south on the Warren Avenue Bridge, according to Bremerton police reports. After the officer stopped the driver at 11th Street and Chester Avenue, the 24-year-old man stepped out of the vehicle, saying, “I need to pee-pee.” He then unzipped his pants and the officer escorted the man off the road to urinate behind a power pole.
The man said he had six beers and a field sobriety test indicated his blood alcohol level was .16. He had no identification or insurance. He was taken to Kitsap County jail for investigation of negligent driving with alcohol.
