The Kitsap Audobon Society will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Poulsbo Library. Ignacio Vilchis, who recently received his doctorate in biological oceanography, will give a presentation on the changes in marine bird populations of the Salish Sea. Health Care Consumer Council meeting at Naval Hospital Bremerton:

Naval Hospital Bremerton will hold its quarterly Health Care Consumer Council meeting at 10 a.m. Dec. 3 in the Ross Auditorium of the hospital. The meeting is open to all patients and is the first in a series on how people view their access to care at Naval Hospital Bremerton. The hospital is located at 1 Boone Road, Bremerton.

Tracyton Christmas tree lighting:

Tracyton residents will celebrate their annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony beginning at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 5 with a Victorian brass ensemble performance. The tree will be lit at 6 p.m. followed by the arrival of Santa on a fire truck. Apple cider and cookies will be served and carol singing will conclude the night.

The tree is located in front of Tracyton Methodist Church, 5153 Naomi Street, Bremerton.

Snow fall at Kitsap Mall:

If the weather outside is not enough, watch the snow fall inside Kitsap Mall’s Center Court. Two snow machines above Santa’s station will turn the area into a winter wonderland every Friday and Saturday night from 6 to 8 p.m.

College fair at OC:

Olympic College will host two college fairs for prospective students Nov. 29 at the Bremer Student Center located on the school’s Bremerton campus at 1395 Broadway Ave.

The first session will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. geared toward transfer students and the second session from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for high school students.

Representatives from 16 public and private colleges and universities in Washington state will be at the fairs to answer questions.

Dancing in Bremerton:

The Kitsap chapter of USA Dance will have its monthly dance from 8 to 10:30 p.m. Dec. 18. Bring non-perishable food donations for free dance entry. Entry is $7 for members and $10 for the public. There is a pre-dance lesson of night club two-step available from 7 to 8 p.m. The dance will take place at Masonic Temple in Bremerton, 878 Fifth Street. More information at www.usadancekitsap.org.

Emeritus at Silverdale Launches Free Rent Sweepstakes:

Emeritus at Silverdale, which provides assisted living and memory care services to seniors, will participate in a company-wide sweepstakes that will award one winner with free room and board at the community for a loved one for one year. The sweepstakes invites contestants to tour Emeritus at Silverdale Emeritus between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31 for a chance to win. Winners will be announced after Jan. 1.
