Climate change

It’s proving to be a fraud

Governments have historically used crises to increase their power. Just in the last year, we have had: an economic crisis, a health care crisis, an H1N1 crisis and a global climate crisis.

People have been told that unless government steps in, we will be left to drown, or die, or lose our homes and our savings.

It is true that you can fool some of the people all of the time, but eventually, for most, the truth will come out. The truth is that climate change is proving to be a giant fraud. It appears that the scientists studying climate change have been fudging their statistics and then threatening other scientists who are skeptical of their findings. Here are some of the examples of threats:

• The President of American Council on Renewable Energy wrote to a skeptical scientist, “It is my intention to destroy your career as a liar. If you produce one more editorial against climate change, I will launch a campaign against your professional integrity.”

• Robert Kennedy Jr. lashed out at skeptics, “This is treason. And we need to start threatening them as traitors.”

• Grist Magazine’s staff writer, David Roberts, called for Nuremberg-style trials for the (those) who were members of what he termed the global warming denial industry.

• A United Nations official warned that ignoring the urgency of global warming would be criminally irresponsible.

In other words, if you don’t believe that global warming is real, you are to be ostracized by society. That was the case until just recently. On Nov. 23, the U.K. Telegraph newspaper exposed that a computer hacker broke into the computers of the East Anglia Climate Research Unit, and released emails that suggest conspiracy and collusion among scientists in exaggerating warming data. The email writers even discussed how to squeeze dissenting scientists from the peer review process.

The American people have been fed a lie. There are two reasons for this: there is a lot of money to be made from climate change and government can use it as an excuse to tax us and to increase its domination of our lives.
