FISHLINE SALE: North Kitsap Fishline Food Bank is having a half-price sale on all clothing from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the thrift shop. There will be other great reductions as well, including some furniture and baby accessories. All proceeds support the nonprofit Fishline food bank and client services. STRAWBERRY FEST: The 33rd annual Strawberry Fest will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Indianola Living Hope Church. This year’s event will include a few “white elephants” as well the usual famous pies and baked treats. Info: (360) 297-2340.

LOW-TIDE BEACH WALK: Join a marine ecologist from Stillwaters Environmental Center to discover the area’s rich nearshore environment during the annual low tide beach walk from 12:30-1:30 p.m. today. Gathering starts at the Kingston Farmers Market. Event is fun for all ages, children must be accompanied by an adult. Wear shoes or boots that can go over rocks and get muddy. Info: (360) 297-2876.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: The Keyport Bible Church will host vacation Bible school program (VBS) from July 7-11 from 9 a.m. to noon each day. The school is free for kindergarteners through sixth-graders. Come and see what the “Power Lab” is cooking up. Info: (360) 779-4235.

WATER WONDERS DAY CAMP: Kitsap Public Utilities District and Kitsap County Surface and Storm Water Management will host a Water Wonders Day Camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 8-10 at the Island Lake Community Center. Info: (360) 626-7723.

FAMILY GAME NIGHT: All ages are welcome to an evening of cards, puzzles, and board games at the Little Boston Library family game night from 6-7:30 p.m. July 9. Play the library’s games or bring your own. Light refreshments served. Info: (360) 297-2670.

MCTAKEOVER: Soroptimist International of Greater North Kitsap will conduct a McTakeover from 6-8 p.m. July 9 at the McDonald’s on Poulsbo’s Viking Way. Funds raised will go toward raising awareness of the second annual Bras for a Cause fundraiser slated for October. Other information on the group will be available.

PLAY DATE: The Poulsbo Cooperative Preschool is hosting a preschooler play date at Lions Park in Poulsbo on July 9 from 10 a.m. to noon. Meet the teacher, other preschoolers and learn more about the school. NK GOP MEETING: The North Kitsap Republican Women will have their regular monthly meeting on July 15 at the North Kitsap Fire Station on Miller Bay Road in Kingston at 11:30 a.m. Guests will be Mark Lowe and Larry Cooney, candidates for state representative from the 23rd Legislative District; Tim Matthes, running for county commissioner in the 2nd Commissioner District; Bruce Danielson, non-partisan candidate for Superior Court; and Tim Ford, candidate for Court of Appeals. CLASS REUNION: The North Kitsap High School classes of 1972, 1973 and 1974 will have a combined 35th class reunion at 7 p.m. on July 18 at the Suquamish Clearwater Hotel waterfront. BOOK SALE: The Kingston Friends of the Library Booksale will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 19. at the Kingston Farmers Market.

CLASS REUNION: The North Kitsap High School classes of 1992 and 1993 will be hosting a joint 15-year reunion July 19. The event will begin with a family picnic (potluck style) at Buck Lake in the afternoon and then an adults-only gathering at the Clearwater Casino in Suquamish will be held that evening. GREAT PENINSULA FUTURE FESTIVAL: Historic Port Gamble will be the setting for the greenest outdoor sustainability festival in Washington Aug. 2-3. The Great Peninsula Future Festival will mix interactive displays of green concepts, products and services with family entertainment, live music, food and hand-made crafts. HISTORICAL SOCIETY: The Kingston Historical Society meets in the Indianola Room of the Kingston Community Center at 10 a.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month from January to October. The group works to collect stories and preserve pictures of Kingston and its vicinity. Visitors are welcome.
