The Olympic League Championships started at North Kitsap High School May 2 and finished May 4.
Kitsap County teams began the Thursday competition with the 4×200 girls relay. Bainbridge’s Claire Hungerford, Sabine Hartenstine, Laine Romney and Arden De Lanoy won in one minute and 48.45 seconds. Olympic’s Olivia Jackson, Savannah Mitchell, Megan Krell and Mia Talarico finished second and Sequim was third.
Bremerton’s Dallin Anderson won the 1600-meter run in 4:22.83. Kingston’s Luke Whalen finished second and Ben Crandall of Bainbridge Island was third. NK’s Salix Wartes-Kahl won the girls 1600 meters while Spartans Evelyn Shutske finished second and Mairin O’Brien third.
Parker Nickerson of Port Angeles won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.03 seconds while teammate Donovan Heins finished second and Olympic’s Cavelle Elmore was third. For the girls, Kingston’s Leighton Menge won the 100-meter hurdles in 16.34 seconds, Roughrider Faerin Tait was second and North Kitsap’s Ingrid Aala third.
NK Viking Logan Sloman won the 100-meter dash in 11.09 seconds, while Bremerton Knight Isaiah Cadengo was second and Roughrider Jason Hawes third. In the girls 100 meters, Viking Calina Morgan won in 12.59 seconds, Knight Cecilia Powell was second and Viking Julie Castillejo third.
NK’s Sloman, Cohen Meis, Owen Wilkinson and Kyree McGinty won the 4×100 relay in 43.98 seconds. Bremerton’s Owen Brooks, Isaiah Addison, Oliver Horton and Jaxson McCrimmon followed in second and Port Angeles placed third.
The Viking girls 4×100 relay team gave NK its fifth and final victory of the first day. Castillejo, Kayla Skistimas, Mikayla Burton and Calina Morgan finished in 51.43 seconds. Bainbridge’s Hungerford, Ella McRitchie, Romney and Hartenstine finished second and Olympic’s Jackson, Mitchell, Talarico and LaQuinta Curtis were third.
Cadengo of Bremerton won the 400 meters in 49.32 seconds. Knight Anderson finished second and Kingston’s Zachary Cummings third. Bremerton’s Powell won the girls 400 meters in 1:00.05. NK’s Castillejo finished second and Spartan Cara Brundige third.
In the field events, Roughrider Heins won the long jump with a leap of 22 feet, 2.75 inches while teammate Nickerson was second and Viking Sloman third. Roughrider Dallas Dunning won the high jump with a mark of 6 feet with Spartans Amare Clark second and Robert Dunn Smith third.
Bremerton’s Talelia Sweet won the girls triple jump with a leap of 32-6 with Vikings Arabelle Miller and Burton finishing second and third.
Viking James Rebman won the javelin with a throw of 164-3, Spartan Brade LeVine finished second and Viking Lincoln Gould third. Port Angeles’ Trevor Martin won the discus at 137-3 with Spartan Matthew Grant second and Roughrider Joseph Ritchie third. In the girls shot put, Bremerton’s Rylee Wheaton won with a toss of 41-0.75, North Mason’s Adrianna Tupolo finished second and Knight Akialah Williams third.
In the girls pole vault, Vikings Corinne Aala won with a mark of 10 feet and Skistimas finished third. Sequim’s Ahrya Klinger was second.
On May 4, Bremerton’s Salleen Mattivi won in 12:01.94, Spartan Mairin O’Brien finished second.
PA’s Nickerson won the 300 hurdles in 40.86 while Olympic’s Elmore and Kyler Simpson finished second and third.
PA’s Tait won the girls 300 hurdles in 47.42, Knight Evelyn Bevers placed second and Viking Ashley Peters third.
In the 800, Viking Matthew Fee won in 1:56.59, Anderson finished second and Olympic’s Joshua Turner third.
In the girls 800, NK’s Wartes-Kahl won in 2:19.97, and BI’s Shutske finished third.
Viking Sloman won the 200 meters in 22.42, Knight Cadengo finished second and NK’s Meis third.
Olympic’s Talarico won the girls 200 in 26.16; Bremerton’s Powell finished second and Viking Calinna Morgan third.
Viking Quinny Stuart won the 3200 in 9:55.87, Kingston’s Whalen finished second and Knight Asher Stewart third.
In the 4×400 relay, Bremerton’s Anderson, Cadengo, Brooks and Addison won in 3:31.13. Vikings Connor Baron, Jacobsen, Luke Ryan and Fee finished second and Trojans Dominic Barragan, Gabe Needham, Simpson and Turner finished third.
In the girls 4×400 relay, Cecilia and Sophia Powell, Melanie Uhrich and Bevers won in 4:15.34 for Bremerton. Kingston’s Menge, Emmie and Olivia McGrew and Emma Grice finished second, and Vikings Wartes-Kahl, Avery Lynch, Syleena Hogan and Georgia Nelson finished third.
In the field events, Trojan Rico Cooper won the triple jump in 41-10, White finished second and PA’s Nickerson third.
Spartan Yafei Shou won the pole vault with a 14-9, Jonas Michael finished second.
Tupolo won the girls discus with 112-10, Viking Phoebe Aala finished second and Knight Wheaton third.
Olympic’s Talarico won the long jump with a 16-2, Buc Menge finished second and Knight Sweet third.
Sequim’s Clare Turella and BI’s Hartenstine tied for first with 4-10 in the high jump.
In the boys shot put, Olympic’s DeQuan Freeland won with a 44-3.50, Viking Jesus Mares finished second and Trojan Kevin Hudson third.
In the girls javelin, Roughrider Teanna Clark won with 111-11, Tupolo finished second and Brundige third.
