Bainbridge’s girls tennis won as a team in its final 3A district tournament as next year the school drops to 2A.
The Spartans will send a doubles team and singles player to state.
Izzy Wallin finished fourth in singles after dropping a match in the championship bracket. She bounced back in the consolations before falling to Silas singles player for the second time in two weeks.
Elle Schuchman and Malia Lemieux won the doubles bracket, losing only three games before the championship match.
Their final match was against Mountain View, and they won the first set by a tiebreaker. Schuchman and Lemieux dropped the second set 6-4 and won the third 6-4.
North Kitsap’s Teegan DeVries finished second in the 2A singles bracket. DeVries won her first match against Enumclaw 6-1, 6-2 and second match against Highline 6-0, 6-0. DeVries followed with a 6-0, 6-1 victory against White River in the semifinals. However, DeVries lost her first 2A match of the season to Sammamish 6-3, 6-3.
Beckham Ochs and Sophia Loverich will be the first alternate doubles team for state after finishing seventh. Ochs and Loverich defeated Iliana Brockett and Tiffany Le 6-1, 6-3.
Central Kitsap’s May-lin Zhang and Kianna Dougherty secured a state berth after finishing fourth in the 3A doubles bracket. The Cougar duo won its first match against Peninsula 6-3, 6-0 and second match 6-4, 6-4. Zhang and Dougherty lost their third and fourth matches.
