A 38-year-old Poulsbo man tried to fake injuries and a medical emergency in an effort to avoid jail.

It didn’t work.

The man was charged with theft of a vehicle in Kitsap County Superior Court June 24. Bail was $55,000. He faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

Court records say Kitsap officers responded June 22 at 3:06 a.m. to the 8100 block of NE Highway 104 in Kingston. A newspaper delivery driver said his vehicle was stolen from in front of the store after leaving it running.

The vehicle was later tracked down, and the suspect arrested. He then faked a medical emergency, but was released from St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale after four hours. Narcan was administered before they realized he was faking. At the hospital he tried to talk officers into not taking him to jail. Officers asked for obstruction charges but they were not filed.

Teen sisters assaulted

A 22-year-old Bremerton woman was in Superior Court June 24 charged with second-degree assault, harassment threat to kill and malicious mischief.

She faces 16 years in prison and $35,000 in fines.

Court records show that Kitsap officers responded to NW Fairway Lane in Bremerton June 21 at 11:10 p.m. The victims were ages 13 and 15, and they were hysterical and crying. They said their sister came over to the place drunk and assaulted them. The two teens went into a bedroom and barricaded it. The suspect said, “If you don’t open this door, I’m gonna put a knife in your head.” She tried to break the door down.

Later, the suspect strangled and punched one of the victims. She strangled the other victim against a shower wall, and also gave the victim a knee-strike to the abdomen.

Runs over motorcycle

A 32-year-old Bremerton man who hit a man’s wife then ran over his motorcycle was in Superior Court June 24 charged with assaults in the second and fourth degrees.

Bail was $100,000. He faces 11 years in prison and $25,000 in fines.

Court records say June 21 at 11:13 p.m. Bremerton police responded to the 2700 block of Schley Boulevard. A man reported a suspect hit his wife and ran over his motorcycle. The suspect thought they stole from him. Earlier he had gone to their motorhome, kicked their door and sped off when told he could not enter.

They went to his apartment. The suspect was in a van. When the calling party went to him, the suspect grabbed his helmet, and they started struggling. The man soon drove off, and when the wife put her arms out the van hit her, causing her to tumble backwards. She may have broken a hand. Damage to the motorcycle was $1,500. The suspect also sustained injuries, including a broken nose. He said he delayed reporting his assault because he feared the man, whom he knows owns a gun.

Speeds at 104 mph

A man who was installing surveillance cameras at a casino was ironically arrested thanks to surveillance cameras at a store.

The 23-year-old Tuscon, AZ man chased by state troopers at up to 104 mph was in Superior Court June 20 charged with attempting to elude police and second-degree robbery. He also assaulted a female store employee.

Bail was $80,000. He faces 15 years in prison and $30,000 in fines.

Courts record say Kitsap officers were called to a vehicular assault in the 6000 block of Highway 104 in Kingston at 1:03 p.m. June 18. The truck fled after intentionally trying to run over a store employee. A State Patrol trooper gave chase as the suspect vehicle dodged in and out of traffic. WSP reported speeds reached 104 miles per hour as the suspect ran a red light and just missed hitting multiple vehicles.

The store employee said the man had tried to pay for gas but his card was declined. He then tried to buy some beer but he had no identification. He put the beer down his pants and walked out the door. The employee tried to stop him, and the suspect “violently threw her to the ground.” As she lied on the ground he got into his truck, which was running, and drove by her, just missing her by 3 inches. Another employee said the man was there 90 minutes trying to “scam them out of gas.” She followed with the milk delivery man to get a photo of the suspect’s license plate. Video confirmed the information.

The suspect was later arrested by the sheriff’s department as the vehicle was seen in a casino parking lot, where he had been working installing surveillance cameras.

Robbery at gunpoint

A 34-year-old Bremerton man, a 33-year-old Bremerton woman and a 33-year-old Kingston man were in Superior Court June 24 charged with first-degree robbery.

Bail was $160,000 for the first man, and $150,000 for the other two. They each face life in prison and a $50,000 fine.

Court papers say at 4:29 a.m. June 21 Kitsap officers responded to the 1500 block of NW Lakehill Court in Silverdale. The caller said a man was forcing her boyfriend to empty his pockets at gunpoint. The suspect also pointed the gun at her and demanded money. A victim said the suspect said they stole money from him. The other two were accomplices.

Robbery at mall

Bail is set at $205,000 for a 62-year-old Belfair man charged with first-degree robbery.

The man was in Superior Court June 24. He faces life in prison and a $50,000 fine.

Court records show Kitsap officers responded to the Macy’s at the Silverdale mall at 10300 block of Silverdale Way NW June 22. The shoplift turned into a robbery due to a physical altercation between a store employee and the suspect. A loss prevention officer put handcuffs on the suspect, but was hurt in the process, as was another store employee who tried to help. She was thrown to the ground by the suspect. The stolen items were found in his backpack and returned to the store.

Worker fraud

A 32-year-old Kingston man who misused a company credit card was in Superior Court June 24 arrested on a malicious mischief warrant a year ago.

Bail was $150,000. He faces 10 years in prison and $20,000 in fines.

Court records show Poulsbo police responded to the 14500 block of Siler Lane SE in Olalla June 16, 2023 at 11:42 a.m.

An employee had been illegally using a company credit card. He was only supposed to use it for gas for company vehicles, but it also had been used at Home Depot, Lowes, Wal Mart and various grocery stores. Fraud amounted to almost $7,230. Store videos show the suspect.

Drug arrest

A 48-year-old Poulsbo woman was in Superior Court June 24 arrested on a warrant from April 17 for possession with intent to manufacture or deliver methamphetamine.

Bail was $150,000. She faces 10 years in prison and a fine between $1,000 and $25,000, depending on the amount of drugs.

Court record show Poulsbo police responded to the 22000 block of Viking Avenue NW April 16. A vehicle was spotted near a camp known for drug use. Police contacted the woman, who had warrants out for her arrest. The suspect said police could search the vehicle. A red bag contained over 1,000 fentanyl pills, suspected meth, heroin and LSD, a digital scale and baggies.

Ironically, the suspect was there to take a man in the camp to court on another charge.

Fugitive caught

A 53-year-old Suquamish man who was a fugitive from justice in Texas was in Superior Court June 18.

The man is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in family violence.

Court papers say he injured a woman he was dating with his hand then exhibited a deadly weapon, in this case a knife. A warrant was issued in April.
