As InMotion Performing Arts Studio embarks on its 15th year of delivering premier dance training to Kitsap County, they reflect with gratitude on the families and dancers who have shared their journeys.
Believing that the arts are vital for the growth and development of their youth, InMotion aims to nurture confident young adults who understand the value of being part of something greater than themselves.
Programs cater to a diverse range of dancers – from three-year-olds stepping into the studio for the first time, to teenagers who consider the studio a second home, and adults rediscovering their passion for dance. Classes celebrate the joy of dance and the stage, as well as rigorous training for elite dancers aspiring to perform nationally and pursue post-high school opportunities.
Their students have advanced to prestigious institutions such as Pacific Northwest Ballet, The School of American Ballet and Ballet Chicago. Many have earned college scholarships and embarked on professional careers as dancers, choreographers and instructors. InMotion’s dedicated faculty provides exceptional training that sets us apart in the region.
This holiday season, they’re honored to continue the 28-year legacy of Dance Ensemble Northwest, a pre-professional nonprofit ballet company that has brought The Nutcracker to the community for nearly three decades.
Join them for the 28th annual Classic Holiday Performance of The Nutcracker Ballet, a timeless way to welcome the holiday season with family and friends.
This year’s production follows Clara Stahlbaum as she celebrates the holiday, receiving a magical Nutcracker doll that leads her into a dream-filled adventure. Clara journeys through an enchanted snowy forest and into the Land of Sweets, where she meets the graceful Sugar Plum Fairy and her delightful companions.
Lasting just under two hours, including an intermission, this performance is suitable for all ages. Dress in your holiday best and start the season with Dance Ensemble Northwest and InMotion Performing Arts Studio as they continue this beloved Kitsap tradition.
Sensory-friendly performance:
“Live theatre is an amazing experience we believe everyone should have and we hope that the new performance format for this season will allow even more of our community to attend and enjoy this holiday treat, The Nutcracker Ballet,” says Chris Price, owner of InMotion Performing Arts.
This year, InMotion is excited to introduce a sensory-friendly performance of The Nutcracker, making live theater more accessible to all!
This performance is a shortened version of our classic holiday performance. Designed for audience members of all ages, this relaxed theater setting is ideal for first-time attendees, young children, and those who benefit from a more accommodating environment.
The performance will last approximately one hour without intermission and includes a pre-show introduction to the ballet and its characters. Adjustments such as decreased volume and increased lighting in the audience and walkways will enhance comfort. Guests will receive a visual schedule upon arrival.
Performance Schedule:
- Friday, Nov. 29 at 3 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 30 at noon
- Saturday, Nov. 30 (sensory-friendly performance) at 4 p.m.
- Sunday, Dec. 1 at 3 p.m.
All performances will be held at the Central Kitsap Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available for purchase online. For more information, please visit inmotionperformingarts.org, call
