CK coach, player honored in 1st year in new league

Central Kitsap’s second-straight trip to state and second-place finishes at both the inaugural Puget Sound League tournament and districts was enough to earn Katie Pasi the distinction of 2024 Narrows Division Coach of the Year for volleyball.

The Cougs took well to the change, intimidating as it was, and captured a first-place regular season finish with a 13-3 league record.

Voting also recognized CK senior Jordan Lingenbrink as the Most Valuable Player.

First-team honors went to Manaia Pasi and Sydney Lingenbrink, and second-team spots went to Ellie Smith and Iliana Brockett.

South Kitsap’s aspirations fell short of a trip to state, but the Wolves finished with a 7-5 record in their league regular season. AJ Bernard took home a second-team spot, and Savannah Browning earned an honorable mention in the South Puget Sound League’s voting.
