Bainbridge easily beats Kingston in boys basketball

Bainbridge High School improved its season record to 8-3 with a 67-53 win at Kingston Jan. 7.

Bainbridge came out of the gates fast, taking a 13-7 lead in the first quarter. The Spartans continued to pour it on with junior Kaden Thielman scoring consistently throughout. Kingston struggled early to control the ball, allowing the Spartans to score fastbreak points.

After the Bucs cut into the lead, Bainbridge managed to get back into control after a Thielman steal and fastbreak score, allowing the Spartans to hold a huge 43-19 lead at intermission. The teams traded scores to start the second half , with Kingston slightly trimming Bainbridge’s lead. Kingston began to play sharper late in the third, hitting more shots and committing fewer turnovers.

The turnovers continued in the fourth before Kingston surged in the final two minutes, going on an 8-0 run to close the gap.
