KINGSTON — The Miss Kingston Scholarship Pageant is Saturday, 7 p.m. at Kingston Middle School.

Tickets are $10 at the door. Children 10 and younger get in for $5.

Six contestants will be judged on poise, public speaking skills, talent and other criteria in their bid to become the new Miss Kingston, which comes with a $1,000 scholarship. The two runners-up will each receive a $500 scholarship. Other awards  ranging from $50 to $100 will be awarded.

Contestant No. 1: Annie Sorensen
Annie Sorensen is the daughter of Pamela Thresher and Kristofer Sorensen. She is 17  and will be a senior at North Kitsap High School in the fall. Her favorite subject in school is AP Biology.

Annie enjoys playing instruments, sailing, hiking and any other outdoor activities. Her goals include attending either Stanford or Northwestern where she can sail and double major in psychology and biology. She one day hopes to specialize in pediatric neurology and practice at Children’s Hospital. She will perform “Georgia On My Mind,” by Ray Charles, on the saxophone.

Contestant No. 2: Sierra Smith
Sierra Smith is the daughter of Darcie Smith. She is 17 and will be a senior at Kingston High School. Her favorite subject in school is science.

Sierra enjoys soccer, basketball, drama and choir. Her goals include using her scholarship for the Air and Hospitality Academy in Vancouver, Wash., for the hospitality program and earning a degree in business management and event planning. She one day hopes to be on the big stage and performing music.

Sierra will sing “Dream a Little Dream of Me” by Ozzie Nelson.

Contestant No. 3: Megan Jarvis
Megan Jarvis is the daughter of Sheila Marcelino, James Marcelino and Brad Jarvis. She is 16 and will be a junior at Kingston High School. Her favorite subject in school is English.

Megan enjoys cheerleading and working in the nursery at her church. Her goals include attending Olympic College as a Running Start student and attending University of Oregon. One day, Megan would like to open a boys and girls clothing store in Los Angeles.

She will dance to “Everybody Talks” by Neon Trees.

Contestant No. 4: Tatianna Finch
Tatianna Finch is the daughter of Fabienne Jorgensen and Timothy Finch. She is 16 and will be a junior at Kingston High School. Her favorite subject in school is athletic medicine.

Tatianna enjoys Honor Society, Cross Country running, and volunteering with the Teen Mentor Program. Her goals include obtaining a nursing degree and a minor in Spanish. One day, Tatianna would like to travel the world as a World Relief nurse.

She will play guitar and sing “The Best Day” by Taylor Swift.

Contestant No. 5: Brittney Brown
Brittney Brown is the daughter of Debbie Brown. She is 17 and will be a senior attending Olympic College as a Running Start student through North Kitsap High School.

Brittney enjoys ballroom, ballet, and pointe dance, along with volunteering. Her goals include obtaining her AA degree and transferring to University of Washington or University of the Pacific. She would like to become an orthodontist or endodontist and to teach ballroom dance in her spare time.

She will dance to “On the Floor” by Jennifer Lopez.

Contestant No. 6: Alissa Neuman
Alissa Neuman is the daughter of Sue Barker, Russ Barker and Nancy Neuman. She is 17 and will be a senior at North Kitsap High School. Her favorite subject in school is AP Literature.

Alissa enjoys Debate, Interact Club, ASB, Washington Aerospace Scholars, and stage crew. Her goal is to attend University of Washington and double major in political science and economics with a minor in psychology. Alissa would one day like to pursue a career as a business lawyer and run for Congress.

She will recite a speech and show a video.
