DAR chapter will
present awards
The Elizabeth Ellington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will host an Awards Tea at 2 p.m. on April 5 at Central Valley Christian Fellowship, 6869 Central Valley Road NE, in Bremerton.
Honorees are Good Citizens Award winners from each of the Kitsap County high schools.
There will also be presentations for Community Service Awards to Myra Clodius, an advocate for mental health, and Nick and Coleta Corey, from Corey’s Day at the Farm.
A “Women in American History” certificate will be presented to an outstanding teacher, Rebecca Erickson, and the NSDAR Historic Preservation Medal will be awarded to Dr. Frank Kitamoto of Bainbridge Island for his work with the Japanese-American community and the Nidoto Nai Yoni Memorial.

The Kitsap Audubon Society is sponsoring an introductory Family Birding Trip from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on April 26 at the Theler Wetlands Nature Center in Belfair.
Families are encouraged to bring children third grade or above to learn how to identify birds.
Meet in parking area just south of Belfair on State Route 3.

Four-year college
backers plan event
The Kitsap Economic Development Alliance and the Baccalaureate Research Team will sponsor a community celebration of the steps made toward increased access to four-year degrees in this region, to take place at 5 p.m. on April 14 at the Norm Dicks Government Center in Bremerton.
Rotary clubs to
host garage sale
The Bremerton Rotary, East Bremerton Rotary, Silverdale Noon Rotary, Silverdale Sunrise Rotary and South Kitsap Rotary will jointly host this year’s 11th annual Rotary Auction Garage Sale (RAGS).
The one-day event, which takes place at the main Pavilion at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., is an opportunity for residents across the county to donate used items and to explore what is one of the largest garage sales in the county.
Donations for goods to be sold at the event will be accepted at the Pavilion starting April 14 from 1 to 7 p.m., April 15 through April 17 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and April 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
