Contractors will reopen Fifth Street May 5 and then close Sixth Street, from Washington Avenue to an alley to its immediate west. Sixth Street is expected to remain closed until May 19, with occasional re-openings for event traffic, such as the Armed Forces Day Parade.

There will continue to be additional, shorter closings of both Fifth Street and Sixth Street as the project progresses.  At no time will both streets be closed concurrently.

The construction is part of the first phase of the Washington Avenue Community Boulevard Project. The contractor is RV Associates, from Port Orchard.
