She’ll do anything to avoid jail
Several people called 911 shortly before 2 p.m. June 1 to report a recklessly driven Dodge Neon traveling northbound on Silverdale Way in Poulsbo. The original caller reported the Neon was speeding and driving into oncoming lanes of traffic and was last seen turning into the Arco AM/PM gas station at the corner of Silverdale Way and State Route 308.
People then reported the 22-year-old Bremerton woman exited her car, fell to the ground and was dumping out alcohol. She then got physical with the 28-year-old man who made the initial 911 call when he removed the keys from her car’s ignition. He stopped the woman from walking onto the busy roadway and she tried to get into vehicles stopped at the intersection’s traffic light.
The man told the deputy that the woman “blew by all of the cars” on Silverdale Way and estimated she was going 70 to 80 mph and ran the red light at Ridgetop Boulevard.
The woman told the deputy she got into an argument with someone and was on her way to her mother’s house in Kingston. The deputy checked with Bremerton Police and confirmed the woman was involved in a hit and run at Albertson’s in Bremerton earlier in the day. She remembered that accident, but thought she “might have hit something else but couldn’t remember,” according to reports.
Before leaving the gas station, the woman asked to use the restroom and the deputy said they would stop at the Silverdale sheriff’s office before heading to the jail. She said she didn’t want to wait and that she was going to go in the back seat of his patrol car. She began laughing as she urinated in the car. The woman then began crying and said she couldn’t go back to jail. She told the deputy “I’ll do anything” not to go to jail and asked if he wanted to “see her bedroom.” She added that he could “leave the handcuffs on.”
Once at the jail, the woman told the deputy, “I normally wouldn’t piss my pants, but I was upset with you.”
The woman was arrested and booked into jail for second-degree driving with a suspended license, violation of vehicle ignition interlock, driving under the influence and reckless driving. Her bail is set at $35,000.
Under the kitchen sink
Sheriff’s deputies tried to contact a 20-year-old Navy Yard City man shortly before 12:30 p.m. June 1 at his grandmother’s house in the 3600 block of E Street in Navy Yard City. He had a felony warrant for his arrest for probation violation.
Deputies knocked on the door numerous times but no one answered. One deputy saw someone inside the house lying underneath a blanket. Deputies continued to knock and discovered a bedroom window was broken. Neighbors said the house was going up for sale and the man’s grandmother moved out several days ago.
Deputies yelled into the broken window and told the man he needed to come outside. Eventually, an 18-year-old woman came to the door and said there were two men inside the house. Deputies again yelled for the man and saw him come out from underneath the kitchen sink. The 22-year-old man also exited the house.
The 20-year-old man was arrested and booked into jail and is now serving a sentence for an outstanding warrant regarding probation violation. The 22-year-old man was arrested and booked into jail for an outstanding warrant. He was later released.
