A 22-year-old man reported that he was robbed at knifepoint Wednesday night while sitting in his car in front of a South Kitsap convenience store, the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office reported.

According to the incident report, the man approached a deputy shortly before 11 p.m. June 3 in front of the 7-Eleven store at the corner of Jackson and Lund avenues and said he had been robbed across the street.

The alleged victim said he had been sitting in his car with the window open in front of the Am-PM store when a man approached him, pulled out a butterfly knife and demanded his wallet. The victim said he pulled his wallet out and gave the man $50. The suspect then ran off, heading into the Mariner’s Glen Apartment Complex.

The victim said he followed the suspect into the apartment complex but lost sight of him. He described the suspect as 25-30 years of age, “brown-skinned, 5-8, heavier-set, with a goatee and a black hoodie pulled over his head.”

The victim said the money stolen was for his child’s medication. Deputies tracked the suspect but were unable to locate him.
