A Bremerton High School student was arrested Oct. 19 for theft at the school as well as burglary.

A police officer arrived to the school at about 12:16 p.m. and the assistant principal said that the student had been caught in a closed and locked computer lab on the lower level of the building. A security video shows the student climbing through a window that leads outside of the room on the north side of the building.

The student admitted to entering through the unlocked, partially open window, adding that he had been entering the lab every day since Oct. 13. His computer privileges had been suspended and he obtained a new password and access information, he said. The assistant principal said his privileges had been suspended because he had been viewing pornographic material.

The student was also caught with stolen items from a teacher and another student, which included an iPod and power adaptor. He said he has a “problem” stealing electronics and had been seeing a psychologist for it. He was arrested for two counts of third-degree theft and for second-degree burglary. The report was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.
