Kitsap County Commissioner Josh Brown is weighing the possibility of running for the 6th District congressional seat.
“I haven’t decided if I will run,” he said on Friday.
Brown said he didn’t know when he would make a decision whether or not to run for the seat, made vacant by retiring Congressman Norm Dicks,.
“For me, I will be thoughtful and deliberative with any decisions I make,” he said.
Before Dicks announced his retirement on March 9, Brown had even never considered running for Congress, he said.
“I love my position here as a commissioner,” he said. “I love working for the county.”
Brown was first elected to the Board of County Commissioners in 2006. He has worked on the boards of Kitsap Transit, Kitsap County Consolidated Housing Authority, Kitsap Regional Coordinating Council, Hood Canal Coordinating Council, Kitsap County Health District, Cencom and Emergency Management.
