Kitsap Transit will host a community meeting at 7 p.m. Monday to give an overview of its plans for a passenger-only ferry for the Bremerton-Seattle route.
The meeting will be on the first floor of the Kitsap Conference Center, 100 Washington Ave. in Bremerton.
The public will hear an overview of plans for adding passenger ferries on the Bremerton, Kingston and Southworth routes during the next few years.
More than 100 community leaders heard a similar presentation Oct. 29 by KPFF Consulting Engineers who were hired last April to prepare a comprehensive business plan and long-range strategy for adding passenger ferry service.
Costs of the passenger ferries are expected to be in the range of $44 million and the Bremerton route could be added as soon as the fall of 2015.
