Responding to a recent letter published in the North Kitsap Herald; certain web blogger comments were reported to have maligned President Obama’s daughter in a racially pejorative manner. The site “Free Republic” was accused of not filtering these harmful and malicious comments. Though the publishers of Free Republic explained that some comments such as these may slip through their screenings from time to time, the views of the blogger who posted them were not the views held by the people running the Free Republic site. Regardless, I felt the letter published in the North Kitsap Herald seemed to use the most comprehensive language possible to depict the entire conservative movement as culpable of these racist comments. Moreover, the publishing this letter alone, speaks volumes about the real intent of the editors at the (left-leaning and biased) North Kitsap Herald.
I think it only fair to level the playing field in regard to Gov. Sarah Palin and literally hundreds of derisive, gender-bashing attacks which have included pictoral and verbal offensives against her person and family. At the onset of her political campaign as John McCain’s vice presidential candidate, the Web was rife with photoshopped depictions of her face placed on pictures of posed (bodies) of bikini clad women holding assault-type rifles. Other insults have included photoshopped pics which show Palin holding her son Trig, who is a special needs child. The pictures depict superimposed images of celebrities faces or “aliens” over Trig’s face. Late night show comedian David Letterman made comments about Palin’s daughter being sexually assaulted by baseball star Alex Rodriguez. Then there was the comments by media pundits. CNN reporter Drew Griffin quoted other “unknown authors as calling her “incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt” to her face. ABC’s Charlie Gibson offered her a sneering, condescending front when he interviewed her in 2008. The interview was an absolute set up. Gibson scowled at her the entire time; pressed her with a vengeance, and challenged her about her Christian beliefs. In fact, President Barack Obama constructively likened her to a “pig with lipstick.” South Carolina Democratic Chairwoman Carol Fowler stated Palin’s “primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion”. Rep. Steve Cohen Democrat- Tennessee stated ‘Jesus was a community organizer, Pontius Pilate was a governor’ (meaning Palin was governor; so was Pilate; Pilate killed Jesus). Palin has accrued more than $500,000 in legal fees due to frivolous lawsuits and ethics complaints lodged by a cadre of activists in Alaska. To date, 19 of the 20 ethics complaints were dismissed, indicating they were merely subterfuge raised by a progressive liberal political party activists (Democrats) who’s mantra is “By Any Means Necessary.”
If your sophist paper is going to highlight injustice done to politicians and their families, perhaps you could include all the truth.
