BREMERTON — There were no injuries in a reported shooting at about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, in the 2800 block of Center Street.
Kitsap County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two men in connection with the shooting, aged 19 and 26, who recent moved to the Bremerton area from Daytone Beach, Florida. Both were booked into the Kitsap County Jail for first-degree assault, with a $250,000 bail each.
Deputies responded to the 911 call Wednesday after the suspects reportedly fired shots at the caller near the apartment complex there. The suspects, initially described as white man and two Hispanic men, had fled the scene in a black Lincoln.
The deputies on the scene spoke with the victim, who knew the suspects and provided information about where they were possibly staying. Deputies were also informed that the shooting may have been related to an earlier physical altercation between the suspects and victim at a residence on Alder Street.
Further investigation revealed that the suspects had changed into a different car and were at a different location in Bremerton. Deputies and officers from the Bremerton Police Department responded to a residence on Lafayette Avenue where they located one of the suspects and took him into custody without incident at about 8:10 p.m.
Deputies developed further information that led to the location of a second suspect at the Viewcrest Village Apartments on Spruce Avenue in Bremerton. Deputies responded to that location and took another man into custody without incident at approximately 10:30 p.m. Deputies also recovered a .22-caliber rifle and ammunition suspected to be used in the shooting.
This shooting is not related to the ongoing investigation regarding a separate shooting on NE Hood Canal Farms Road in Central Kitsap that occurred on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
A $250,000 nationwide extradition warrant has been issued for Zecheriah S. Chadwick for that incident. Anyone with information about that investigation or the location of Chadwick is encouraged to call 911 or 360-308-5400, if outside of Kitsap County.
