BREMERTON — The Kitsap Public Health District wants to remind residents that there’s still time to enroll in a Qualified Health Plan through the Washington Healthplanfinder spring special enrollment period.
Residents are eligible to apply if they recently became aware of the tax penalty for not having health insurance or if they were unable to complete their applications due to technical issues by the Feb. 15 deadline.
Those who aren’t covered in 2015 should be aware that the penalty for not having coverage next year increases to $325 per individual or up to 2 percent of your income, whichever is greater.
Applicants must complete an application at wahealthplanfinder.org to enroll. The Kitsap Public Health District and several community agency partners have certified assisters to help you sign up.
Those needing assistance can call 360-337-5235 or stop by Kitsap Public Health, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to talk to an assister.
Applicants can also call the Washington Health Benefit Exchange Customer Support Center at 1-855-923-4633 to enroll.
