A 2003 graduate of Spectrum Community School in Kingston was charged this afternoon for the murder of 68-year-old woman in Sacramento, Calif.
Casey Daniel Brown, 25, was arrested by Sacramento Police Monday for the April 10 stabbing death of a woman in downtown Sacramento, according to a police news release. He was arraigned on charges of murder and abuse of an elder resulting in death, early this afternoon in Sacramento Superior Court, according to Shelly Orio, a spokeswoman for the Sacramento District Attorney’s office.
Brown is being held without bail in Sacramento County Jail. He will appear in court again April 22.
North Kitsap School District spokeswoman Robyn Chastain confirmed the man is a Spectrum Community School graduate.
According to the news release, 68-year-old Bernice Nickson was found suffering from knife wounds on 8th Street in Sacramento early on the morning of April 10. She was taken to a hospital but later died from her wounds.
Police used surveillance camera footage and a witness account to build a composite sketch that led to Brown’s arrest Monday in West Sacramento.
