A Tacoma man was charged with first degree identity theft involving several incidents in Kitsap and Pierce counties.
Christopher Michael Irish, 34, was charged with first degree identity theft on March 4 in Kitsap County District Court. On March 18, Irish was booked into the Kitsap County Jail under a $50,000 bond for failure to appear in court.
Charging papers stated the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office reported on Dec. 22 an elderly man at Park Vista said a female stole his laptop computer.
On Jan. 2, Bank of America customer service received a phone call from a male caller who identified himself as the victim. He changed the address, phone number and email address to a Gig Harbor location. He requested a debit card, which was mailed to the new address and activated on March 4. Records showed charging activity from Jan. 4-6 at numerous businesses in Kitsap and Pierce counties. Irish also opened three credit cards in the victims’s name at Lowe’s, Walmart and Victoria Secret, according to court documents.
It was discovered Irish used one of the cards at the Home Depot Store in Gig Harbor. Deputies contacted the store’s loss prevention agent and discovered several transactions with the same card number. There was three transactions for more than $1,050.
An investigation showed the debit card was used several times at the Port Orchard Walmart for purchases totaling more than $960. Surveillance photographs showed Irish and a female leaving the store. Deputies matched the photos with Department of Licensing Department and booking photos. The female also matched the description of the woman who stole the man’s laptop computer, documents stated.
Investigators also discovered Irish had obtained a credit card at Lowe’s in Port Orchard and that nine transaction totaling $3,628 were made between Jan. 10-13. Loss prevention agents provided photos and a description of Irish’s vehicle to investigators, court document stated.
The investigation went to the Gig Harbor address on Feb. 25 and found the residence wasn’t Irish’s home. Irish’s friend said he told her he was homeless, and asked if he could stay and have mail sent the address. The friend agreed.
On Feb. 27, police arrested Crystal Clark in Pierce County on an unrelated warrant. She told investigators she was dating Irish, but denied stealing the computer and also was aware that Irish obtained credit cards in the victim’s name, stated court papers. Clark admitted using the cards at Walmart, but would not provide information on Irish’s whereabouts or activities, charging papers stated.
Woman charges with forgery
More than two years after a Port Orchard woman attempted to cash a stolen check, she was arrested and charged with forgery.
Savanna C. Johnson, 27, was arrested March 25 and booked into the Kitsap County Jail for forgery. He bail was set at $10,000. She was charged with forgery in District Court on Jan. 3 from an October 2010 incident.
According to court documents, a woman contacted the Bainbridge Island Police Department and reported a burglary at a home that belong to her deceased parents. She reported someone had stolen a vehicle and business checks belonging to her father.
On Dec. 4, 2010, the victim received a call from Money Tree in Port Orchard and was told a female was attempting to cash a $4,468 check from her father’s business. She advised the store not to cash the check and hold it.
Johnson had an account with the store and presented a Washington driver’s license as identification. The victim stated she did not know Johnson and did not write a check to her.

March 22
• Weston Joseph Broussard, 42, of Port Orchard, was charged with possession of oxycodone. Bremerton police found Broussard unconscious sitting in a parked vehicles near the intersection of Burwell and Chester. He was arrested and booked into jail under a $50,000 for drug possession.
• Thomas Blayze Nilson, 26, of Gig Harbor, was charged with second degree burglary. Nilson was arrested in connection with a burglary in the 4000 block of Arvick Road SE. His bail was set at $60,000.
• Koedy Leon Beam, 29, a transient, was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle. On March 22, a Kitsap County deputy attempted to stop a black truck that did not have a functioning left brake light. The driver refused to stop and late crashed into a tree. Beam fled into a wooded area and was later found by a K-9 unit. He was arrested and taken to jail, and bond was set at $50,000.
March 20
• Terrel S. Booker, 38, of Port Orchard, was charged with delivery of meth. Court papers stated on an undercover police officer conducted a buy from Booker on several occasions during March. Booker was arrested March 19 and a search warrant was issued. Deputies discovered evidence of marijuana distribution and two stolen laptop computers. He was booked into the Kitsap County Jail for delivery or meth and possession of stolen property. Bail was set at $40,000.
• Mark William Cockerill, 23, of Port Orchard, was charged with third degree retail theft with extenuating circumstances and Allison Mae Camacho, 34, of Port Orchard, was charged with second degree theft involving a shoplifting incident at the Port Orchard Walmart. Deputies responded to a call at the store. When they arrived, the store’s loss prevention agent detained Camacho, who was in the store with Cockerill. Deputies found Cockerill in the store’s automotive department, where he was arrested. Cockerill and Camacho were booked into the Kitsap County Jail under a $20,000 bond each.
March 19
• Jonathan Charles Mathes, 40, of Port Angeles, was charged with second degree assault in connection with a domestic violence incident on March 5 in the 2200 block of Sidney Avenue in Port Orchard. Port Orchard police reported at 9 p.m. a caller reported hearing a female scream “Please, help me.” The female, who was dating Mathes, stated Mathes found her at an apartment and was mistakenly allowed inside. Once inside, she reported, Mathes started yelling at her, then grabbed her around the neck with both hands and squeezed. Mathes released the woman and went into the kitchen. The woman left the apartment and called for help. Two weeks later, Mathes was arrested for assault and violating a protection order. Bail was set at $200,000.
