• Overview: Emerald Ridge, which has not finished with a winning record since 2005, might be the biggest surprise in the state. The perennially hapless Jaguars have won four consecutive games since they opened their season with losses against Prosser and Kentwood by a combined score of 97-34. Since then, they have averaged more than 38 points per game. The offense is run heavy behind Anderson, who has 666 yards and 11 touchdowns on 122 carries. That could be problematic for a Wolves’ defense that has allowed an opposing player for rush for more than 200 yards in a game three times this season. Emerald Ridge’s offense is not just reliant on the running game, though. Clarke and Rankin have combined for 724 yards and seven touchdowns on 42 receptions this season. The Jaguars, who switched to a 4-3 alignment this season, have improved on the defensive side, as well. Carter leads the team in both tackles (45) and sacks (eight). In their four wins, they have surrendered 20 points per game.
