Police still searching for luring suspect

A man who Port Orchard Police said attempted to lure a girl into his car near the Kitsap County Courthouse Aug. 9 remains at large.

PORT ORCHARD — A man who Port Orchard Police said attempted to lure a girl into his car near the Kitsap County Courthouse Aug. 9 remains at large.

Sgt. Dale Schuster, police department spokesman, said, however, that some leads from the public are being investigated.

The girl, who police say is 12 years old, said the suspect enticed her with candy and clothing before displaying a knife as he walked toward her.

According to police, the girl’s dog growled at the man. They then ran home.The suspect is a white male about 6 feet tall, thin and muscular, with a balding or shaved head, and a scratch or scar on the left side of his neck. He was described as wearing a single earring and a black shiny — possibly leather — jacket. Police say the knife he displayed was attached to a chain.  The victim stated the man was driving an older blue Toyota, unknown model, with a license similar to 554WW.
