CHENEY — Alex Thompson, 21, of Poulsbo graduates cum laude from Eastern Washington University this month with a bachelor of science in economics and a bachelor of arts in music.

Thompson was on the dean’s list for all three years at Eastern and is a recipient of the EWU Presidential Scholarship award.

Thompson graduated from North Kitsap High School in 2010 with an associate of arts through the Running Start program. He is an accomplished jazz saxophonist you can often find busking in downtown Poulsbo during community events.

His goal after college is to find employment utilizing his education in economics, and he is also considering opportunities with cruise ship companies. His dream job would be to live, work and play in New York City.
