POULSBO — Come Tuesday, Kingston will have a new port commissioner and Poulsbo could have at least one new City Council member.

Voters will decide whether to let certain members of the Kitsap County Commission, North Kitsap School Board and Poulsbo Port Commission continue to do the work they’re doing, or give someone else the job.

Election Day is Tuesday. Mailed ballots must be postmarked that day. Until 8 p.m. Tuesday, ballots can be  dropped into 24-hour boxes at Poulsbo Fire Station, 911 NE Liberty Road, Poulsbo; and the County Administration Building on Division Street, Port Orchard.These races will be covered Tuesday night on NorthKitsapHerald.com and in the Nov. 11 Herald.

— Kitsap County Commission, District 1: Democrat Rob Gelder and Republican Chris Tibbs.

— North Kitsap School Board, District 4: Scott Henden and Val Torrens. (In the primary, Henden received 3,298 votes, Torrens 2,989, and Julie Edwards 2,142.)

— Poulsbo City Council, Position 2: Mike Dunphy and Connie Lord.

— Poulsbo City Council, Position 3: Gary Nystul and Fred Springsteel. (Springsteel is a write-in candidate.)

— Poulsbo Port Commission, Position 3: Arnie Bockus and Jim Rutledge. – Kingston Port Commission, District 3: Walt Elliott and Jerry Kirschner, (In the Aug. 16 primary, Elliott received 323 votes, Kirschner 231, and Tom Coultas 160.)

North Kitsap voters will also help decide a county measure that would levy 15 cents per $1,000 of assessed property valuation to support services for the county’s homeless and veterans.

County elections officials are predicting a 50 percent voter turnout. They reported receiving the following number of ballots as of Thursday morning.

— Countywide: 37,449 of 146,593 ballots mailed. 
— North Kitsap School District: 8,322 of 28,789. 
— Poulsbo city: 1,443 of 5,165. 
— Poulsbo Port District: 1,230 of 4,238. 
— Kingston Port District, 1,280 of 4,073.
