• Last meeting with Olympia: The Bears won 27-17 last season.

• Olympia vs. South Kitsap: Olympia leads the series 5-3.

• D.J. Sigurdson vs. Olympia: 2-3.

• Last week: The Bears forced a fumble at their own 5-yard line in the fourth quarter to secure a 10-7 win against rival Capital.

• Overview: The last time these two teams met at Ingersoll Stadium, the Wolves took advantage of a fake punt by Leon La Deaux, who scored on an 82-yard touchdown run, and a 22-yard field goal by Isaiah Davis to upset the then-seventh-ranked Bears, 10-7, on Sept. 25, 2009. That ended the Bears’ streak of 28 consecutive regular-season wins in Narrows League play. Olympia has not lost a league contest since then. The Bears surrendered a career-best 227 yards to Capital running back Kai Van Sickle last week, but only have allowed 14 points in their first two games. Olympia’s offense has been inconsistent in its first two games as Houser became the full-time starter at quarterback after splitting time last year with Gabe Padukiewicz. The Bears scored 34 points in their opener against Tumwater, a 2A school, but were limited to 10 points last week against the Cougars. Olympia returns first-team all-4A Narrows League running back Killman, who rushed for 1,115 yards and 21 touchdowns last year. Despite the Bears’ regular-season success, they have not advanced to state since suffering a 14-10 loss in the first round on Nov. 15, 2008, against Central Kitsap.
