Kitsap Humane Society’s second annual Online Auction for the Animals will run Sept. 3-17.
The Online Auction for the Animals is in conjunction with Animal Krackers, the organization’s largest event of the year.
This year’s Animal Krackers, KHS’ 23rd annual gala and dinner event, will be staged at the Clearwater Casino on Oct. 1. Tickets are required for the Oct. 1 event.
See kitsap-humane.org for more details.
In 2015, KHS decreased the number of auction items featured at the Animal Krackers event and started the Online Auction, hoping to allow supporters who are unable to attend to be a part of the Animal Krackers experience and contribute to the fundraiser.
The Online Auction raised more than $16,000 for KHS in 2015. Supporters from across the nation bid on more than 100 items.
This year, the auction will feature more than 150 unique auction items, including gift certificates to local restaurants and attractions, weekend getaways, original artwork, vintage cameras and pet services.
All proceeds benefit the shelter’s programs, such as its community low-cost spay/neuter services and low-cost vaccine and microchipping clinics.
“The Online Auction is a great way for someone to support KHS and the animals we care for who is unable to adopt a pet at this time or have not been able to attend one of our special events,” said KHS events and outreach assistant Kimberly Cizek-Allen.
The Online Auction for the Animals is open to the community. Those interested can shop and bid on items at www.biddingforgood.com/KHSauction/2016 beginning Sept. 3.
Kitsap Humane Society is a non-profit charitable organization that has been caring for animals in need since 1908.
KHS found new homes for more than 5,500 animals last year and maintains a 95-percent lives-saved rate. KHS’ vision is that every adoptable companion animal has a home. For more information, visit www.kitsap-humane.org.
