Santa’s collecting your gifts for seniors through Friday

Seniors shouldn't be overlooked this Christmas season, says Santa Claus. Sue's Lavender and Fresh Juice Bar in the Port Orchard Public Market is urging shoppers to bring back an unwrapped gift for a senior 65 and over.

Sue’s Lavender and Fresh Juice Bar in the Port Orchard Public Market is urging shoppers to bring back an unwrapped gift for a senior 65 and over. The gift will be distributed with South Kitsap Helpline’s senior food deliveries the weekend before Christmas.

Shoppers can look for small items, Sue’s Lavender and Fresh Juice Bar says, that aren’t expensive: coffee mugs with coffee, cocoa or tea, gourmet treats, lotions, socks, calendars, gloves or gift certificates. Items that could be given to either a man or a woman are especially helpful.

About 130 seniors who receive food deliveries will be targeted for this extra holiday treat.

Please return your unwrapped gifts to Sue’s Lavender and Fresh Juice Bar by 12 p.m., Dec. 18.
