POULSBO — The thunder is gone but the rain is far from over.
A sudden storm shook North Kitsap with lightning and thunder at about 7 a.m. Wednesday and was followed by scattered downpours. A weather station at Poulsbo’s Central Market recorded 0.65 inches of rain by 6 p.m. and wind gusts of up to 33 mph. A station at Skunk Bay in Hansville notched 0.59 inches of rain and clocked gusts of up to 29 mph.
Photographer Brad Camp captured a photo (above) of a funnel-like cloud formation above Kingston Wednesday afternoon, perhaps the result of a cold air downdraft.
Rain showers are likely to linger through the remainder of the week, with overnight lows in the low 40s, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
