As if taxpayers, parents and students who depend on the Bremerton School District haven’t had their fill of drama, now this.

For those keeping score, there is no moral high ground in the latest chapter in the district’s tiresome soap opera.

It’s bad when a board member and members-elect coordinate a leadership nomination out of view of the public.

It’s bad when a member resigns without giving those who voted for him a coherent explanation.

The admission of three board members that they discussed amongst themselves, off the record, who would take leadership of the new board isn’t encouraging.

However, that the members talked to the press about the matter is a good sign.

Those members, Scott Rahm, Dave Boynton and Carolynn Perkins, were pushing boundaries that should be respected. But the frankness, especially coming from this district, is refreshing.

Former member Louis Mitchell, who has not explained why he abdicated the trust voters placed in him, has created another hindrance for an already hindered district.

Enough, already.

It’s time for adults to start setting an example for kids.
