CALL FOR ARTISTS: The Bainbridge Island Wine Weekend Recession-Friendly Art Show slated for 1-4 p.m. Aug. 30 at the Town Square on Bainbridge, is looking for artists. This event is open to all artists and craftspeople who are interested in participating in a fun, casual recession-friendly event. Vendors are welcome to bring pictures of their work and portfolios, but all items sold will be priced at $100 or less. Preference will be given to local (ie North Kitsap) artists and to those whose work is not generally available for under $100. Proposals for art demonstrations are welcome. Send a short description of your work (with a maximum of five pictures) and what you’d like to exhibit to Kim Hendrickson at kim@hendricksn.org. AUDITIONS

BREMERTON COMMUNITY THEATER: Auditions for “The Seven Year Itch” by George Axelrod will be held at 7 p.m. on July 20-21 at the Bremerton Community Theatre. The cast includes 4 men and 6 women. BAINBRIDGE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA: The Bainbridge Performing Arts’ Classical Music Program is seeking musicians for all instruments for the 2009-2010 season. MESSY FRIDAYS AT KIDIMU: Each sunny Friday this summer, starting July 10, KiDiMu — the Kids Discovery Museum on Bainbridge — invites young explorers out for experimentation, sensory exlporation and messy art from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aprons provided, but a change of clothes is encouraged.
