Fathoms o’ Fun officials release names of parade winners

The Grand Sweepstakes Award was presented to Just for Kicks School of Dance. To be eligible for the award, an entry must have been judged “best” in a parade category — all other units in Grand Sweepstakes winner’s category move up one place in awards.

Fathoms o’ Fun Festival officials released the names of 2013 Grand Parade winners.

This year’s winners for the Community Festival Float Awards, which were prejudged at 4 p.m. Saturday and awards presented at the starting point of the parade, were:

• Sweepstakes: Sequim Irrigation Festival Float

• President’s: Daffodil Festival Float

• Mayor’s: Marysville Strawberry Festival

• Queen’s: Mason County Forest Festival Float

• Festival: Port Townsend Rhododendron Float

• Princess: West Seattle Hi Yu Festival Float

• Spirit Award: Clallam County Fair Festival

• Judge’s: Joyce Daze Royalty and Float

• Director’s: Forks Old Fashioned Fourth Festival Float

• Appreciation Awards: Tenino Motorcycle Drill Team; Leos Towing, Inc.; Grand Parade Sponsor Columbia Bank; Wave Broadband – Fathoms O’ Fun July 4th Fireworks Sponsor; 133d Army Band of Washington National Guard; 2013 Parade Honored Grand Marshall Bruce Crandall; 1964 Chevrolet Impala Convertibles – Gomez; and South Kitsap School District Units

Serving as judges were Dave Jeffcoat, vice president and regional manager for Kitsap Bank; Bobbie Stewart, owner of Old Central Antique Mall; and Lance Fong, general manger at Trophy Lake Golf and Casting.

The parade will be televised at noon Sunday, July 7, by Westsound Television and on BCAT – Wave, or catch it on Signalcast on the internet.
