KINGSTON — A Kingston man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with head and left-leg injuries Wednesday morning after being hit by a car on Bond Avenue near Minder Road.
Robert John Haynes, 56, was jogging northbound — toward Kingston — on the northbound shoulder shortly before 7 a.m. At the intersection of Bond and Minder, he attempted to cross the highway and was hit by the vehicle, which was driving in the northbound lane.
Haynes was not wearing reflective clothing, according to the report.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as James Colonel Mackey, 86, of Poulsbo. He was driving a four-door 1994 Cadillac Deville. He was not injured.
According to an email from the North Kitsap School District, school buses enroute to Kingston Middle School and Kingston High School were delayed.
