Astrid L. Valdivia, a 13-year-old from Utah, has been positively identified by the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office as the female who died during the shootout in the parking lot of the Port Orchard Walmart last Sunday, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Dental records were used to make the identification.

“Valdivia was with Anthony A. Martinez as he opened fire on two Kitsap County Deputies, wounding them,” according to Trooper Krista Hedstrom of the Washington State Patrol. “Deputies returned fire and Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene.”

The Kitsap County Coroner’s Office ruled the cause of his death as a gunshot wound to the chest.
