Port Orchard man faces child molestation charges

Prosecutors charged a Port Orchard man with three counts of first-degree child molestation in Kitsap County Superior Court on April 10.

Prosecutors charged a Port Orchard man with three counts of first-degree child molestation in Kitsap County Superior Court on April 10.

According to court documents, Steven Donald Stone, 62, inappropriately touched three young girls, ages 7, 10 and 12, from September 2010 to February 2013.

He was arrested Feb. 24 after a woman contacted the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office about a sex offense that took place at a home on Long Lake Road, records show.

Charging documents stated the 10 and 12 year old reported to investigators that Stone inappropriately touched them on numerous occasions during a two-year period. The 7-year-old said Stone touched her on one occasion last year.

First-degree child molestation is a Class A felony and carries a life imprisonment and/or $50,000 fine for each count.
