In our two-part restaurant score series, here’s a look at the Bremerton establishments that have earned a score that requires improvement, according to Kitsap Public Health District standards.

Each year, more than 1,000 permanent food establishments are inspected twice.

“The purpose of our inspection is to assure that food is being handled properly – from preparation through serving,” states the Kitsap Public Health District website. “Our inspectors observe kitchen workers’ food handling practices, inspect refrigerators and storage areas, take food temperatures, and make sure that workers use correct hand washing practices.”

Food safety violations are corrected immediately at the time of inspection to ensure the manager is aware of the problem. Some of these errors were corrected at the time of inspection and may have required a follow-up inspection. These were the most updated scores at the time of publication.
