DCD NOW USING POSTCARDS
Kitsap County Depart-ment of Community Development is now sending postcard notices for projects in unincorporated Kitsap County that require public notice.
In mid-2008, DCD began an evaluation of the methods used to print and mail notice documents. They found that using services provided by the U.S. Postal Service for full document mailings reduced costs. Since July 2008, more than $9,400 was saved using these services. This reduced mailing costs about 52 percent. The majority of these mailings were letters and multi-page documents. Extending the use of these services to postcard notification increases accessibility to project information, reduces the number calls and physical visits to DCD and can provide significant cost savings.
