— Welcome by Mayor Becky Erickson and County Commissioner Robert Gelder.
— Introduction and welcome of Viking Fest’s title sponsor, Safeway.
— Welcome by David Rice, president of the Poulsbo Sons of Norway.
— Introduction of 2014 Miss Viking Fest and her court, Little Miss Viking Fest, Miss West Sound, Miss West Sound Outstanding Teen, and Miss Poulsbo.
— Norwegian songs, sung by the Sons of Norway Men’s Chorus.

7 a.m. to 1 p.m.: 42nd annual Poulsbo Noon Lions’ Pancake Breakfast, at North Kitsap High School. All proceeds benefit the Lions’ NKHS Scholarship Fund.

7:30-11 a.m.: 31st annual Viking Fest Road Race, sponsored by Poulsbo Parks and Recreation Department.
— 7:30-8:45 a.m:. Check in at Lions Park.
— 9 a.m.: Start of 5-Mile Run.
— 9:05 a.m.: Start of 1-Mile Run.
— 10:15 a.m.: Start of Kids Dash on Front Street.
— 10:30 a.m.: Road Race Awards at Parade Reviewing Stand.

10 a.m. to 7 p.m.: Viking Village and Suquamish Arts & Crafts open in MIW Waterfront Park.

10 a.m. to 10 p.m.: Food/Craft Booths open on Anderson Parkway. Carnival opens at King Olav Parking Lot until 10 p.m. Entertainment at Kvelstad Pavilion.

11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.: Sons of Norway Lodge No. 44 Poulsbo Scandinavian Luncheon, upstairs. Open-faced sandwiches, pea soup, and baked goods. Members will also make lefse and krumkake.

11 a.m. to 8 p.m.: Poulsbo Sons of Norway Lodge Membership Drive Beer Garden.

2-4 p.m.: 45th Annual Parade, Downtown Poulsbo, sponsored by Central Market; featuring Miss Viking Fest and Little Miss Viking Fest, sponsored by American West Bank.

12:45-1:30 p.m.: Donut-Eating Contest, sponsored by Sluy’s Bakery. Sign up at the information booth. Three age groups. Limited space. Entry fee: children up to age 11, free; 12 and older, $10.

1:30-3 p.m.: Kupcake Krigen (Cupcake War) MIW Waterfront Park, sponsored by Marine View Beverage.

3-4 p.m.: Oyster-Eating Contest, sponsored by The Loft Restaurant. Sign up at The Loft Restaurant.

4-5 p.m.: Lutefisk-Eating Contest, sponsored by Peninsula Credit Union, Poulsbo. Sign up at information booth before 1 p.m. Entry fee: $10. Limited to 12 contestants, 18 years and older. Lutefisk donated by New Day Fisheries, Port Townsend. Lutefisk prepared by the Poulsbo Sons of Norway lodge.

5-6 p.m.: Event awards.
— 5 p.m.: Stand-Up Paddleboard Races.
— 5:10 p.m.: Kupcake Krigen Awards.
— 5:20 p.m.: Murder Mystery solved. King crowned. Arrest made. Prizes awarded.
— 5:50 p.m.: Message-In-A-Bottle Race.
— 6 p.m.: Booths and Entertainment close. Carnival closes.

EVENT PARKING
Downtown parking is limited.

Vehicles with disability placards can be parked at the Edward Jones Investment Offices, 19032 Jensen Way NE, or in front of the old city hall.

On May 17, park at the North Kitsap High School and Middle School campuses and ride the shuttle bus ($2 roundtrip for 6 and older).

On May 17-18, park at Gateway Fellowship Church or First Lutheran Church. Suggested donation: $5.
