POULSBO — Second Season, formerly known as the North Kitsap Fishline Thrift Shop, is now moored near the Poulsbo waterfront.
The second-hand shop is full of brick-a-brack, snazzy jeweled accessories and rows of clothes. Now all it needs is to reel in some of its regular customers who are not able to find the shop since its relocation in November to Anderson Parkway, overlooking the Poulsbo Marina. What has not changed is that 100 percent of the shop’s proceeds still benefit North Kitsap Fishline’s coffers.
The store moved to the bigger space so it could sell more items to raise more money for Fishline.
Jody Hammond, a five-year volunteer for Fishline knows the move will serve the organization well.
“We have quite a few regular customers and some new ones, especially in the summer months,” she said. “With the new location it will be easier for people to find us, especially the ones who will be coming in on the boats.”
Hammond serves as a jewelry connoisseur of sorts, who cleans, repairs, prices and displays the jewelry for sale. She even hand-crafts some items.
She is just one of the dozens of volunteers on whom Fishline depends to keep the shelves stocked with donated, quality items.
“Volunteers are our backbone,” said Garvin Tootle, Fishline’s operations manager. “We couldn’t do this without volunteers.”
Second Season, located at 18825 Anderson Parkway, will celebrate its grand opening at 10 a.m. March 11.
The store is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Donations are accepted during business hours.
