Gene Bullock’s letter (“Fear tactics didn’t work,” Nov. 8) exemplifies how out of touch a person can be when it comes to evaluating the so-called religious right. Being a Christian and supporting traditional values seems to initiate a plethora of objections. Listening to the pro-choice mantra, they claim to be fair and balanced. The problem is, if your choice is the sanctity of life the sanctimonious pro-choice supporters go berserk. Therefore you basically have no choice. Why doesn’t the left call their position exactly what it is: pro-abortion.
To imply the left never uses hate speech is laughable. The leftist media called President Bush and Cheney killers, Hitler, Nazis and liars. What about the wonderful ad depicting “General Betray us,” or a sitting Congressman accusing American Marines of rape and murder? They went after “Joe the Plumber in the most egregious manner,” hoping to discredit him. They re-elect politicians who are caught in fraudulent acts or crimes. Only in their own righteous minds can they be so self-deluding.
Then to have the audacity to blast conservative talk radio as full of hate is mind boggling. Conservative talk radio and the Internet have attempted to balance the news. Sixty-five percent of the liberal news media supported Obama. Yet the left is threatened when 35 percent attempt to tell the rest of the story. Talk radio and Fox News are the only counterparts to a biased and liberal media.
In the eyes of democratic liberals, we Americans who have served or those who now choose to serve this great nation should not wrap themselves in a flag of patriotism. In their view it is hypocritical to express a love for this country openly.
The reason the left is so upset with conservative talk radio is truth and patriotism work. Their hate-America stations failed.
