Updates to cases reported earlier in the North Kitsap Herald

Marshaun Jeron T. Thompson was acquitted of rape by a Kitsap County Superior Court jury on July 8.

Thompson, 33, of Poulsbo was arrested in February on a charge of third-degree rape. The alleged incident occurred after a birthday party at a Poulsbo home.

Thompson was accused of raping a woman after the party, which prompted a call to 911. The caller and homeowner shot Thompson in the chest while on the phone with 911 dispatchers. The caller said Thompson was being hostile and threatening, and refused to leave.

The homeowner was not charged with a crime and his actions were deemed justifiable in Kitsap County Superior Court.

Bradley James Woodcock, 18, of Poulsbo pleaded guilty in Kitsap County Superior Court to second-degree assault. He was sentenced to six months in jail and 12 months community service. Woodcock pleaded guilty in June, but sentencing was delayed to allow him to graduate from high school.

Authorities at North Kitsap High School notified the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office of a concern after pictures of injuries to a student were shown to them by the student’s friends.

The student was Woodcock’s 17-year-old girlfriend and had briefly stayed at his residence.

Her account of Woodcock’s behavior included violent encounters. Woodcock choked her, stomped on her, and threw her around his room, knocking her into walls and furniture, according to a sheriff’s report.

The girl sought treatment at a local hospital after the incident. It was the second time she sought medical assistance while staying with Woodcock, she told law enforcement officials.

The sheriff’s report states that Woodcock previously pushed the girl down a staircase, causing her to hit her chin on a cinder block.
