SEATTLE — The Coast Guard and Kitsap County Sheriff are searching for the owner of a nine-foot boat found floating adrift approximately one mile south of the Hood Canal Bridge in Kitsap County, Nov. 11.
The Coast Guard and Sheriff are asking anyone with information about the small Livingston recreational vessel with serial number WN 5467 KD, with a 6 hp outboard motor, to call the Sector Puget Sound Command Center in Seattle at 206-217-6001.
Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crews from Air Station Port Angeles and a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew from Station Seattle have been searching the area around the Hood Canal Bridge since the boat was discovered at approximately 1 p.m.
In addition to the motor, the boat contained a gas can with one gallon of gas, one oar, two life jackets, and a cooler containing fresh bait, one full and one empty beer. The boat has not been registered for several years.
No one had been reported missing or in distress by 8:30 p.m. Nov. 11, the Coast Guard reported.
