This letter is in response to a letter submitted to the North Kitsap Herald from Poulsbo City Council Members Kim Crowder, Connie Lord, Dale Rudolph and Ed Stern. These four council members state publicly in their letter that Poulsbo City Council Member Becky Erickson is misleading the public on certain issues, and that they support re-election of Mayor Kathryn Quade. Shame on you all.
I have regularly attended the Poulsbo City Council meetings for the last year. I believe that I possess a fair understanding of all of these issues in contention. So, it is with that understanding that I can honestly say that there are merits to both sides of these issues. However, this is not the important point of my letter.
The point of my letter is this: We, the voting citizens of Poulsbo, did not elect, nor do we pay, these councilmembers to use their elected office to influence or attempt to sway a political election to their benefit. We, the voting citizens of Poulsbo, elected and pay these four councilmembers to form policy for the city.
I would like to believe that there is no room in Poulsbo for this kind of politics. We need a city government that can work together, not against each other, which can be seen in a neighboring city of ours. We don’t want that here. You are all better than this.
