POULSBO — The first two innings of the rivalry baseball game between Kingston and North Kitsap were tight. Both teams had scoring opportunities, which they were unable to capitalize on.
It wasn’t until the bottom of the third when the Vikings broke away, scoring five runs. The same five runs that would win it for the now 7-1 (7-3 overall) Vikings.
The Bucs did not allow a shutout, however, as both Drea Fulton and Richie Sander scored. Ethan Syverson earned both RBIs.
For the Vikings, AJ Milyard, who pitched the entire game, struck out seven. He walked four and gave up seven hits.
Kingston’s Josh McLeod and Syverson combined had four strikeouts and six walks.
The Bucs play Port Townsend at home today. The Vikings are on the road to play Port Angeles. Games are scheduled for 4:15 p.m. Subject to change due to weather.
