Reporting from the Poulsbo City Council meeting Wednesday, 7 p.m., in City Hall:

Poulsbo Mayor Becky Erickson said Wednesday that North Kitsap Fishline needs peanut butter.

At each council meeting, Erickson, who is a Fishline board member, gives a plug for Fishline to help residents stay abreast of the organization’s needs. Fishline meets the food and shelter needs of some 5,400 people a month …

Is there enough parking downtown? Mayor Erickson wants to know, and Wednesday pointed residents to a poll on NorthKitsapHerald.com. “Vote and see what you think,” she said.

The city’s Economic Development Committee is expected to begin discussing downtown parking at its next meeting May 25, 4 p.m., in City Hall. The meetings are open to the public.

As of Wednesday evening, 80 percent of poll respondents agreed that there is insufficient parking in downtown Poulsbo; 19 percent disagreed.

Among the comments on the Herald’s Facebook page: “More parking is definitely needed to help ensure a sustainable future for our historic downtown core,” Mary Loza-Anderson wrote. “The citizens and visitors alike would appreciate being able to utilize and support the local businesses more often if it were easier to park.” …

Councilman David Musgrove, owner of Hot Shots Java, gave a plug for moms everywhere — and for downtown — Wednesday.

Sunday is Mother’s Day, and he encouraged residents to shop downtown or take mom out. Also, Girls Night Out is coming up, and last year some 500 gift bags were given out. In fact, they were gone in 45 minutes.

What did the guys do during the last Girls’ Night Out?, a council member queried. “I don’t think we’ll say,” Musgrove quipped …

Marine View Beverage’s 85,000-square-foot warehouse is expected to open this month at College Marketplace, Councilman Ed Stern said Wednesday.

The Poulsbo warehouse is larger than associated warehouses in Port Angeles and Puyallup. Marine View Beverage is arranging a council tour of the warehouse next week, Stern said. The warehouse is expected to create 65 union-scale jobs, he said … 

Councilman Musgrove did vote to impose a medical marijuana dispensary moratorium at the last council meeting. But he did not, as the draft minutes stated, vote to “impose marijuana” on Poulsbo.

The council approved the minutes as amended. Councilman Ed Stern added, “I did not inhale these minutes.” …
