In response to the one-liner from Paul Tweiten on page A4 of the April 29 Herald:
Paul’s one-liner is not original; I heard that one-liner at an open-mike amateur comedy evening earlier this year. However, his thinking for his one-sentence “letter” contains two important aspects:
The first is realizing that Trump will be President.
The second is the impeachment topic, where I find myself sympathizing with Paul — that is, if President Trump does not deliver on his promises to: “Strengthen the borders. Build a wall. Allow only legal immigration. Create a better health-care system. Take good care of our veterans. Create and bring jobs home. Make our military the best. No more dangerous deals with risky/hostile countries. Make and treat America first” and many more straight-talking proposals.
Like many men who get voted into power, it can be the lies that have secured their election. I have a deep intuitive sense that Trump has the strength and loyalty to stand by his new patriotic views and the will of his supporters.
I just wish Paul and his like-minded fans had seen the same impeachment urgency looming over us all during the last eight years .
Good luck with your career in comedy, Paul.
God bless America.
