Camden’s Carnival, a fundraiser to help the Locklair family bring their adopted son Camden home from China, will be hosted by Bethany Lutheran Church, School and Early Learning Center on Sunday, Oct. 2.
Pastor David Locklair and his wife Kallie are adopting Camden, who will be joined at home in Port Orchard by older brother Jahleel, a fellow Chinese adoptee. Jahleel has Prader-Willi Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that has affected much of his development. The pastor said that Jahleel was brought home from China when he was 2.
Camden also has the same genetic condition as his brother, he said, and the family is prepared to provide him the resources and support he needs.
The carnival at Bethany, which begins at 12:30 p.m., will include a barbecue with games, dessert dash, a bicycle and tricycle parade, silent auction and bingo.
All proceeds from the event go to support the couple’s adoption. Any donations made to the Locklair family through Bethany may be used for tax deductions, since the organization is a 501(c)3 non-profit.
